Till end of October, Azerbaijan to build 1500 houses for flood victims, authorities promise
The issues of rebuilding the Azerbaijani villages, which suffered from floods in May-June, were considered on August 6 in the city of Saatly at the meeting chaired by Kyamaleddin Geidarov, head of Ministry for Emergencies (MfE), with participation of the heads of executive committees of the Saatlin, Sabirabad and Imishlin Districts.
The meeting passed behind closed doors. According to the briefing published today in the state-run newspaper "Azerbaijan" with the reference to the press service of the MfE, the meeting passed a decision to build about 1500 individual houses for flood victims.
The civil works will begin already on August 9 and complete by the end of October, to allow people move in before the cold season. Besides, before the new school year, which will start in Azerbaijan on September 15, it is planned to repair and restore 20 schools of the region.
