Resident of Grozny was beaten and detained without presenting any charges
Residents of the capital of Chechnya report about a young man detained and beaten by power agents. Now, he is still in hospital guarded by law enforcers. This was reported by a source in one of local human rights NGOs.
"On August 5, in the Staropromyslovskiy District of Grozny, employees of the local ROVD (District Interior Division) detained Adlan Ahmadov, a local. It was done without presenting any charges and observing other procedures prescribed by the law. At the ROVD, the young man was so violently beaten that he was promptly hospitalized and operated on. This is what his relatives assert," the human rights activist told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
According to his story, now Adlan Ahmadov remains in hospital, but neither relatives nor the advocate are admitted, and his ward is guarded by militiamen.
His relatives addressed for help to a number of human rights organizations, which, in their turn, are preparing respective requests to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Prosecutor's Office and other state entities.
