Azerbaijan: "Azadlyg" to restart on August 4

The next regular issue of the oppositional newspaper "Azadlyg" will be published in Azerbaijan on August 4. It became possible after negotiations of the paper's editorial board with the top management of the "Azerbaijan" Publishing House.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that yesterday, on August 2, the "Azadlyg" suspended preparation of the issue, because the employees of this edition were not let into the building of the "Azerbaijan" Publishing House, where the editorial board of the newspaper is located. Ganimat Zakhidov, editor-in-chief of the "Azadlyg", reports that the publishers motivated their decision by the paper's debts.

On August 3, only the Internet version of the newspaper appeared.

Today, Ganimat Zakhidov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the parties had achieved "conciliatory solution" on the paper's debts to the publishing house.

"Thus, the problem is settled, since August 4 the newspaper will restart printing," he said and added that the remaining part of the material aid allocated by the President will go to pay bonuses to employees and purchase of new equipment for the edition.
