Residents of Dzhaparidze village in Georgia ask authorities' protection against wolves

Residents of Dzhaparidze village, Dedoplistskaroi District of Georgia, ask the authority to ensure protection of the village against wolves, which get into the yards of private households.

"We asked the administration many times to organize the hunters' watch, wolves appear in the village almost every evening, and we can't get out into the street. They tell us: kill, if they attack. But what can we kill with? We have no firearms," Eka Tsiklauri, one of the villagers, explains the problem.

On July 20, wolves rushed into the yard of Ms Tsiklauri and killed 8 sheep. "We looked out of the window also could do nothing. There were very many wolves," the "Interfax" quotes her as saying.

Attacks of wolves on villages are not the problem of Dzhaparidze only, but also of other villages of the district. Thus, several months ago, in Pirosmani village wolves killed three persons and up to 50 heads of cattle, the "Georgia Online" writes.
