In Karachai-Circassia, young people revive national dances
Practically every month Circassian young nationals of Karachai-Circassia are inviting residents in different villages and districts to show them how Adygs' ancestors danced their national dances.
When holding Adyge-Dzhegu - Circassian national dances - like it was done in antiquity, young people stand in a circle - girls to the right of the musicians, and boys - to the left side. According to the ancient custom, a person in charge of running dances and his female assistant are appointed; they show how to dance and conduct the whole festival.
"We do it trying to transfer the culture of the Adyg dance from generation to generation; and the most important is that everything should be done correctly," said Kasei Kik, a member of the public organization named "Adyge Khasse".
Recently a Circassian delegation from the USA took part in one of such actions. In their conversation with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent ethnic Circassians-citizens of the USA noted that their traditions are kept also in other countries, but in the Caucasus it is done best of all.
