Count of mass poisoning victims on the rise in Stavropol Territory
The number of poisoned patients after a wedding party in Verkhnyaya Dubovka village, Stavropol Territory, has reached several dozens. This was reported by the department for civil defence and emergencies of the administration of the Mikhailov Municipal District.
Let us remind you that the first victims - 23 persons - were hospitalized with diagnosis "acute intestinal disease" on Tuesday, July 27.
According to latest data, currently 47 persons are treated at the infectious ward of the Mikhailov Central District Hospital and at the infectious hospital of Stavropol; all the victims are ethnic Dagestanians.
All the patients have an acute intestinal disease. Today, the earliest patients will be already discharged, the "Interfax" reports with reference to the above department.
According to Vladimir Danilov, the head of the department, said that the "Rospotrebnadzor" (Russian Federal Agency for Consumer Supervision) took samples of salads that remained after the party for analysis; all the rest food was already eaten. "Poisoning with water is excluded," Mr Danilov has emphasized.
The "Rospotrebnadzor" Department for the Stavropol Territory believes that the reason of the mass poisoning was in cooking foodstuffs for the wedding party at home, with violations of storage and cooking procedures, the "Rosbalt" reports.
