In Armenia, judicial session on Khalafyan's case ended with fight
On July 27, the court session on the fact of Vaan Khalafyan's death held at the court of general jurisdiction of the Kotaik Region grew up into a fight between relatives of the casualty and of the defendants. The session was postponed till August 18.
On July 27, the court was to listen to Norair Eboyan, former head of the Charentsavan police, who figures in the case as a witness. However, Eboyan failed to appear and reported that he had health problems. He asked to take his evidences given at the preliminary investigation as the basis.
Both the party of the victims and the party of the prosecution, as well as the defendants and their advocates, petitioned about Norair Eboyan's presence at the court session. The judge decided to invite him again, and in case of absence, to subject him to compulsory process. The next session was appointed on August 18, the "Armenia Today" reports.
In the end of the session an incident burst out between relatives of Vaan Khalafyan and those of the defendants: mutual insults were pronounced, they started pushing each other and even fighting. The incident was settled only after not quite operative interference of court marshals, the Radio Liberty reports.
