100 trucks of forbidden things confiscated from Rostov prisons

In total, 100 trucks of forbidden things were confiscated from the inmates kept in the prisons and colonies of the Rostov Region. As stated by Alexei Velichko, deputy head of the Federal Service of Punishment Enforcement (known as "FSIN"), who announced today the outcomes of the check of the Rostov FSIN Department, the prisoners' rights were not broken.

Mr Velichko has noted that the work of the Chief Department of the FSIN for the Rostov Region by the outcomes of the check was found failed; and the FSIN Commission has put the mark "unsatisfactory".

"One of the most blatant violations is the presence of plenty of forbidden items in the regime establishments. We have confiscated about 100 full trucks of such forbidden articles: TV-sets, tape recorders, telephones, piercing-cutting objects," he said.

"If a person is sentenced to maximum security colony for committing a grave or especially grave crime, but serves the term in the conditions of a resort - there's some injustice in it. Any human rights defender will agree with me and with my colleagues," the RIA "Novosti" quotes the FSIN deputy head as saying.
