Grand Prix of "Golden Apricot" Festival awarded to Turkish film director
The main prize of the 7th International Film Festival "Golden Apricot" was awarded to the Turkish film director Rekha Erdem for his film "Space".
The traditional 7th International Film Festival "Golden Apricot" was held on July 11-18 in Yerevan. In total, 120 films were presented; of them, 45 were shown within the contest in the following nominations: "International Fiction Movies", "International Documentaries" and "Armenian Panorama".
In the nomination of "International Fiction Movies" the "Golden Apricot" was awarded to the Turkish film director Rekha Erdem for his film "Space", and the "Silver Apricot" was given to the Belarusian film director Sergey Loznitsa for his film "My Happiness".
In the nomination of "International Documentaries" the "Golden Apricot" was awarded to Russian Pavel Kostomarov for his film "Both Together", and the "Silver Apricot" was given to Vadim Endreiko from Germany for his film "Woman with Five Elephants".
Film director Rekha Erdem was born in Istanbul in 1960 and got his education in that city. He filmed the following feature films: "Oh, the Moon", "Five Seasons", "Chase for Money", "Mummy, I fear" and others.
