In Azerbaijan, resident of Dagestan is sentenced to four years of imprisonment
Today, Telman Mamedov, Judge of the Kusar District Court of Azerbaijan, passed a verdict on the criminal case of Usman Garisov, a resident of Dagestan, accused of drug contraband and use. The convict was awarded four years of minimum security prison.
"The state prosecutor demanded 6.5 years, but the judge decided differently. Four tablets of preparation 'Jaguar' were found on my brother, which, under the statement of Azerbaijani policemen, contain some narcotic substance. It turns out that Usman was given one year of prison for every tablet. In his last plea, my brother said that he was not guilty," Umar Garisov, the convict's brother and a resident of Karanaiaul village, Kayakent District of Dagestan, said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
The brother plans to address appellate instances.
