Gagra: employee of Abkhazian Spiritual Authority of Moslems assassinated
Today at night, Emik Chakmach-Ogly, head of the Gagra branch of the Spiritual Authority of Moslems of Abkhazia and a member of the republic's public chamber, was shot dead.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed at the State Office of Public Prosecutor of Abkhazia that Mr Chakmach-Ogly, born in 1961, was killed at about 2:00 Moscow time in the yard of his house in central Gagra, in Nartaa Avenue, from an unidentified pistol.
He was shot dead on his way home from his shop, located near his house. The shots were made, when he got out of his car after parking it in his yard.
The Prosecutor's Office of the Gagra District opened a criminal case on the fact of the murder, examined the place of the incident, confiscated the detected shells and appointed a ballistic examination.
