"Left-Wing Front" to appeal against law on guarantees to Governor of Rostov Region

Activists of the Rostov-based branch of the "Laft-Wing Front" are going to send their protest to the Constitutional Court against the Law "On Amending the Regional Law 'On Guarantees to Administration Head'". This was stated by activists on July 15.

On that very day activists of oppositional political organizations of Rostov-on-Don planned to hold a flash mob "Black Label" at the building of Regional Legislative Assembly with a demand to Deputies not to pass the Law, but the action was dispersed by militiamen, who explained that the event was not sanctioned.

The aim of the flash mob was to express protest against amendments to the so-called "Law on Chub" - the document establishing the pension of 9 million roubles to former to head of the region Vladimir Chub. After a number of protest actions the ex-governor decided not to use the financial allowance of 80 percent of the salary of the incumbent governor, which is due to him under the law, and retired as a state employee. However, the passed law was not cancelled.

Oppositionists insist not on correction but on cancellation of the law. Activists of the "Left-Wing Front" said that they would try to cancel it through the Constitutional Court.
