SQBJ refused to open case against ex-head of military court of Grozny

Today, the Supreme Qualification Board of Judges (SQBJ) refused to give consent to initiation of a criminal case against Alexander Kuznetsov, former chairman of the Grozny Garrison Military Court, accused of forgery, making illegal decision and causing damage.

In the opinion of the investigation, Alexander Kuznetsov passed, when in the position of the chair of the above court, six illegal decisions, which caused significant material damage to the state. According to the main episode of the case, he passed an illegal decision to pay 52 million roubles of the so-called "combat money" to military servicemen.

According to inspectors, the servicemen never received the money. All the funds were transferred by proxy to two organizers of a criminal scheme. Now, a criminal case was opened against them under the article of a swindle.

At the session of the Board Alexander Kuznetsov rejected his guilt and stated: "The materials of the check of my activities were forged and obtained with violation of the law."

In its turn, today the SQBJ of the Russian Federation today refused satisfying the presentation of the Chairman of the ICPO Alexander Bastrykin, who asked to open a case against Kuznetsov. This decision was made on the basis of the amnesty, which the State Duma of the Russian Federation had spread on all the participants of warfare in the Chechen Republic. After some hesitation, Kuznetsov agreed to application of the amnesty to him, although it is a non-rehabilitating basis, the "Gazeta.Ru" notes.
