Roscomnadzor intends to notify mass media on extremist comments by e-mail
The Federal Service on Supervision in the Area of Communications, Information Technologies and Mass Communication (Roscomnadzor) is going to notify Internet media, in which it considers comments of the users as extremist, by e-mail and give them one day to eliminate them.
Sergei Sitnikov, head of Roscomnadzor, reports that the order on the procedure of media notification will be signed today. "The logic of the order is as follows: we find a violation, look up the register file, take the registered electronic addresses and send a request to eliminate it. The deadline for elimination is one working day", says Sergei Sitnikov.
The head of Roscomnadzor excludes the other methods of media notification. According to him, telephone conversations may lift the responsibility from the offender while a registered letter, sent by mail, will take too much time. Sitnikov also says that no explanations by media workers that they forgot to look up their e-mail or were absent from work will be accepted, reports "Interfax".
