The Russian Orthodox church will continue to render help to residents of South Ossetia, as far as it can, and will send there sisters of mercy. This has been announced by Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia, during the July 2 meeting with members of the Board of Trustees of the National Charity Foundation.

The Patriarch stresses that South Ossetia is faced with an acute problem of medical help, there is a lack of nurses and paramedical personnel.

"We are sending our sisters of mercy, our church specialists for conducting training in order to teach people render medical services. It is certainly important that such organizations, the activity of which is absolutely transparent and efficient, get support of the state and the National Charity Foundation", cites the Patriarch the agency "ОSinform".

In April, Patriarch Kirill blessed the South Ossetia embassy. On that occasion, the Patriarch said that, in line with the introduction of the institution of chaplains in the Russian Armed Forces, Orthodox priests are going to be sent to the Russian military bases in South Ossetia for spiritual support of Russian soldiers.
