Saakashvili states Georgia prepared to start negotiations with Russia on normalizing relations
Georgian President Michail Saakashvili has stated at the sitting of the National Security Council that Georgia is prepared to start wide-scale negotiations on normalizing bilateral relations without any preconditions.
"I confirm our readiness to conduct negotiations with Russia on normalization without any preconditions", said Saakashvili.
The term of normalization is understood by the Georgian leader as "return of 500 thousand refugees home, restoration of their rights, de-occupation of Georgian territories and all issues relating to bilateral economic, political, diplomatic and humanitarian relations", reports "Interfax".
Saakashvili states that Georgia is not interested in confronting Russia and is ready for a dialogue, reports "Gazeta.ru".
