Stavropol Territory: militiaman plants a bomb to improve his service record
A criminal case was initiated against an operative militiaman of the criminal inquiry division No. 3 of the Stavropol UVD (Interior Department) under the articles of "abuse of office" and "illegal storage, transportation and bearing of explosives". This was reported by the Russian ICPO (Investigatory Committee at the Prosecutor's Office).
Inspectors assert that in April 2009 the militiaman planted grenades, detonators and trotyl blocks he had into a tree hollow in the city park, and then asked his friend to call the on duty unit of the ROVD (District Interior Division) and report about detection of the stuff.
The Promyshlenny ROVD of Stavropol opened a criminal case on the fact of the finding, but later suspended it, the Radio "Mayak" reported.
According to the militiaman himself, he did it with the aim to improve his ROVD's statistics on solving crimes related to illegal circulation of explosives.
Now, the criminal case initiated against the militiaman has been sent to the court for consideration on the merits, the "Gazeta.Ru" writes.
