Picket against human rights violations in Chechnya is on in Strasbourg
In front of the building of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) in Strasbourg, a protest action is held by members of the Chechen Diaspora in France against illegal actions of power agents in Chechnya.
As explained by Said-Emil Ibragimov, head of the action and president of the international association "Peace and Human Rights", the picketers want to draw attention of PACE Deputies to the facts "of kidnapping, torture, murders out of court and inquiry and many other things" in the republic.
Mr Ibragimov has noted that he and some other participants of the action continue their hunger strike for some days already, demanding that the European MPs make an objective estimate of the state of affairs in Chechnya, the "Interfax" reports.
