North Ossetia to open branch of Movement "In the Name of Georgia"

A branch of the Movement "In the Name of Georgia", which unites Georgian Diasporas of 53 regions of Russia, aiming to achieve, through charitable and cultural actions, closer relations of Russian and Georgian peoples, will be opened un North Ossetia.

As reported yesterday, on May 27, by Mindia Gulua, head and organizer of the Movement, its leaders made a decision to open branches in all the subjects of the Russian Federation.

"We want our voice to have weight both here, among Georgian, and in Georgia. Surely, we don't like that we were at war. You won't find a Georgian who liked it. I don't like that the memorial was blown up in the region where my grandfather perished during the Great Patriotic War. But I have no right to reproach Georgia, if I do nothing for this country. In such case I should come and live there, and feel all this on myself. However, I live in Russia, and I shouldn't blame the government of Georgia from here. And now, when we all get united, we'll take part in the political life of Georgia," said Mr Gulua.

When asked by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent on how people in Georgia treated his idea, he answered that "in Georgia people treat it with understanding."

Financing of the branches will be carried out by business communities, which prefer not to be advertised.
