Citizens of Krasnodar had chance to pass deputies mandates

On October 28, on the threshold of parliamentary elections in the Russian Federation and Krasnodar Territory, activists of the Krasnodar regional branch of the Interregional Association "Golos", the Coalition of Krasnodar Territory's Public Organizations and "Solidarnost" (Solidarity) Coalition of the Moscow Helsinki Group, and the Krasnodar Club of Civil Education of the Krasnodar Regional Public Organization "Creative Union "Southern Wave" surveyed citizens in front of the Central Kolkhoz Market of Krasnodar with the purpose of working out mandates to the future deputies.

During the survey, the people were offered to choose five most urgent social problems.

637 people were questioned as a result of the action. The rating of ten most urgent problems was fixed as follows:

  1. minimal wage to be risen up to the subsistence level - 55.4%
  2. rise in charges for public utilities and electricity to be prohibited - 54.9%
  3. corruption to be fought against - 44%
  4. young people to be assisted with their placement - 41.8%
  5. admission to budget seats in institutions of higher education to be increased - 34%
  6. criminality level to be reduced - 31.9%
  7. small-scale enterprise to be developed - 31.1%
  8. children and disabled people to be provided with medicines on preferential terms - 30.6%
  9. long-term credits of dwelling acquisition to be allowed - 28.6
  10. welfare, pension and scholarship payments to be increased - 26.4%

  • Court dismisses appeal of activist Melikhova against fine for her verse

    A court dismissed all the arguments of the defence and upheld the decision to fine Marina Melikhova, an activist from Kuban, whose verse the law enforcement bodies recognized as discrediting the Russian Armed Forces. Marina Melikhova, who does not have the money to pay the fine, intends to file an appeal against the court’s decision.

  • Two natives of Northern Caucasus injured in shootout near “Wildberries” office in Moscow

    A shootout took place near an office of the “Wildberries” Company in the centre of Moscow. As a result, at least one person has been killed and several others have been wounded, sources report. Among the victims have been Abubakar Mestoev and Umar Chichaev, mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters from Northern Caucasus, reports Shamil Khadulaev, the chair of the Public Oversight Commission (POC) of Dagestan.

  • In Volgograd, court recognizes absence of HIV therapy in prison hospital

    The Central District Court of Volgograd awarded prisoner Ruslan Mitrofan compensation in the amount of 1000 roubles, recognizing that the administration of a prison hospital in Volgograd violated the prisoner’s right to receive medical care by not providing him with an HIV medicine. Meanwhile, Ruslan Mitrofan requested the compensation in the amount of 100,000 roubles.
