Terror act in Grozny was aimed at high-ranking MIA employees, inquiry believes
The self-made land mine that blew up in Grozny in the evening on May 17 was remotely triggered, as the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by a source in the Chechen militia. According to his version, law enforcement bodies of the republic continue searching organizers of this terror act, which killed Lieutenant Colonel Lom-Ali Khadjiev, head of the operative search of the Republic's MIA, and wounded two more high-ranking militia officers.
"The terror act committed in the evening on May 17 in Saikhanova Street in the Oktiabrskiy District of Grozny was carefully prepared and planned. It was established that the bomb was triggered remotely, by means of a mobile phone placed into the bag with the bomb," said the officer.
According to his version, the criminal (or criminals) chose the moment, when militia officers, who had arrived to the place, where a suspicious item was detected, entered the possible defeat zone, and triggered the device.
Let us remind you that as a result of the explosion of the land mine Lom-Ali Khadjiev, 36, died in situ, while Saidaev and Bibulatov received fragmental wounds. Muslim Atabaev, 33, an occasional passer-by and local resident, was also wounded.
