"Georgian Emigrants" announce start of protest actions in Tbilisi

In Georgia, the nongovernmental organization (NGO) "Georgian Emigrants" has again announced a start of a permanent 24-hour action near the building of the parliament. A similar announcement was already sounded on May 29.

As stated by Zviad Kushitashvili, chairman of the NGO, their main demand is employment of Georgian emigrants.

"President called us to come back to Georgia and promised employment. Our organization has about 550 members - people, who returned from emigration. Neither employment nor support are rendered to them," he said.

According to Mr Kushitashvili, tomorrow, on June 8, after the action near the parliament, a march will take place to the President's residence, where the protesters will present their demands. As noted by the chairman of the "Georgian Emigrants", they will put forward other demands, apart from employment.

He also criticized the Georgian opposition, who, in his opinion, just sneer at people.

"We have a demand to opposition parties - they should be united. Today, they lack a goal; they don't know what to do, put people in the pillory and insult Tbilisi. We shall not withstand it," the GHN Agency quotes Mr Kushitashvili as saying.

According to his story, in May emigrants held a warning action and addressed their letter to Prime Minister Nika Gilauri; however, no reaction of the authorities followed, the "Georgia-Online" Agency reports.
