At trial on events of October 13, 2005, in Nalchik defendants accuse victim of torture
Today at the process on events of October 13, 2005, in Nalchik the victim Ilyas Mashbashev gave evidences. On October 13, 2005, he was senior operative agent at Centre "Т". The defendants accused him of torturing them.
Mr Mashbashev said that he was listed as a victim, because his car parked at the service car park of Centre "Т" was damaged, while he was away on a business trip.
The material damage of 15,000 roubles was compensated to him, and he had no property claims to the defendants.
The defence has exposed the victim to careful interrogation about his awareness about the lists of Wahhabites, closing the mosques and the work his agency conducted towards preventing extremism.
The victim said that he saw no lists and knew nothing about closed mosques.
When asked about his awareness about a large-scale action prepared with the aim to change the constitutional order and about any militants present in the territory of the republic, he also answered in the negative.
While the defence was interrogating the victim, three defendants - brothers Aslan and Ruslan Kuchmenov and Bappinaev - filed applications stating that they recognized in victim Mashbashev the person who had applied physical pressure to them trying to force them to defame themselves and each other.
They asked the court to attach their statements to the materials of criminal case; and it was done.
The chairing judge asked the victim's explanation as to the statements. "I can explain nothing, it's all a lie," he said.
