Resignation of North-Ossetian Mufti accepted
On May 24, the Spiritual Department of Moslems (SDM) of North Ossetia accepted the resignation of the Mufti of the Republic Ali-Hadji Evteev. This was reported today by the Ministry on Nationalities' Matters of North Ossetia.
On May 19, an extraordinary sitting of the Board of the SDM was convoked, where the Mufti of North Ossetia Ali-Hadji Evteev declared his resignation.
"The Mufti's resignation was accepted," the "Gazeta.Ru" quotes the spokesman of the Ministry on Nationalities' Matters of North Ossetia, while the "BFM.ru" adds that the name of the acting Mufti was not disclosed yet.
The reason of Mufti's resignation was in his interview on May 2, 2010, published by the IA "Regnum", where Ali Evteev confessed, in particular, that he had been "very radical" and "went to take lessons from Khattab." Besides, the Mufti criticized Orthodox churchmen and accused them of passiveness, blaming them as "the community that barred people's road to the God."
