Today, Stavropol Territory is mourning over terror act casualties

Today, the Stavropol Territory has a day of mourning over the victims of the terror act committed on May 26. In the whole territory, banners and flags are half-mast; TV Companies and culture establishments were recommended to cancel their entertaining broadcasts and events.

Until further notice, Stavropol is under a total check of all the transport and passengers arriving to the city from other regions. Strengthened militia units are patrolling streets; the authorities are hastily installing video observation systems in places, where crowds of people usually gather.

According to the latest data, the explosion killed seven and wounded more than 40. Presently, 29 victims are still in hospital, 22 of them are estimated by doctors as heavy. Families of the terror act casualties will get 1 million roubles each, the ITAR-TASS reports.

It is already established that the explosive item was planted in a juice pack and had the power of 400 grams in trotyl equivalent. It was charged with balls and fragments of cut reinforcement bars. According to the local Department of the FSB, the bomb "was planted behind the boards fencing a tree, close to the un-working cafe "Aquarium", the "Kommersant" writes.
