First Georgian president's widow demands meeting with authorities

The widow of the first Georgian president Zviad Gamsakhurdia, Manana Archvadze-Gamsakhurdia, in connection with a hunger strike of her son Tsotne Gamsakhurdia in prison, demands a meeting with Georgia's minister of corrections and legal assistance but  authorities still refrain from contacts.

"Nobody has had a meeting with us yet. The minister's representatives have not given us a way.  They do not respond to our demands. There is only police here", the NGO Roundtable spokesperson Nana Kakhidze said. According to her, situation with Tsotne Gamsakhurdia is "extremely difficult", but he refuses to stop a hunger strike.

Archvadze-Gamsakhurdia demands to stop bearing pressure on her son and is seeking a meeting with him. If her demands are not met, she promises to commit suicide.

To avoid self-immolation of Arvadze-Gamsakhurdia and the death of her son in a hunger strike, nun Tamar continues a dry hunger strike at her home, IA 'News-Georgia" reports.

At the same time, near the Parliament building, the action in support of the widow of ex-president goes on. Protesters say they will not disband and will continue the hunger strike demanding Tsotne Gamsakhurdia's release, "Georgia Online" informs.
