In Volgograd, the prosecutor who knocked down and killed the kid by her car, acquitted
In Volgograd, the parents of Sasha Kolokoltsev who was killed last June, was officially informed by the investigative bodies that crime components were not found in the actions of former prosecutor Elena Ivanova, who knocked down their son by her car. The expertise conclusions are conflicting though.
Last year, on 21 June, a 6-year old Sasha Kolokoltsev was knocked down on the highway when running across the road near a zebra crossing in front of Volgograd circus. Opel Corsa that stroke the kid was driven by the prosecutor of the regional department for supervision over the criminal procedure and operative-search activities Elena Ivanova.
Shortly before the accident Ivanova was with her friends in one of the cafes, where they ordered alcoholic drinks, but there is no direct evidence that Ivanova drank, wrote "Novaya Gazeta" of 27 June, 2009. After the accident Elena Ivanova quitted the prosecutor's office.
Meanwhile, the child's parents, conducted independent calculations that contradict with the official ones. According to the official investigation, the prosecutor was unable to stop before a running child. But according to independent estimates, she had such possibility. Specifically, there were found mistakes in the official expertise results by the experts from the Chair of Motor Transport Department of Volgograd State Technical University.
The boy's parents also insisted on all the documents' transfer to the investigative agency of another region to avoid the influence of the prosecutor's colleagues concerned.
The story of this boy has caused a considerable stir: Sasha's family and friends organized pickets, protests, referrals to the Prosecutor General's Office, the President and Prime Minister of Russia, pro-volgograd reports.
The boy's parents are going to dispute a decision on the prosecutor's case dismissal.
