Exit polls at election of Tbilisi Mayor to be conducted by foreign companies

The TV Company named "The Public Broadcaster of Georgia" (PBG) has hired the German company named "GfK Group" to conduct exit polls at the election of Tbilisi Mayor on May 30.

As stated at today's special briefing by Giya Chanturiya, Director General of the PBG, the "GfK Group" - one of the world leaders in marketing studies - will question some 30,000 voters at 50 polling stations of Tbilisi.

The PBG asked the German company "not to attract any of the local sociological research companies existing in Georgia," having added "that it would be better if they hire people themselves to help them in the polling." According to Mr Chanturiya, it will make the process "fair as much as possible," the IA "Georgia-Online" reports.

Two more private national TV Companies - "Rustavi-2" and "Imedi" - stated earlier that they had jointly hired the American Company "Edison Research" for conducting exit polls during the Mayor election, the "Georgia Online" reports.
