Charge of organizing 10 explosions presented to two Sochi residents
Currently, a former militiaman Ilya Galkin and a local resident Mikhail Denisenko, accused of triggering a series of explosions in the territory of Sochi in 2008-2009, get acquainted with the materials of the criminal case, which will then be sent to the public prosecutor for approval of the charge. Inspectors assert that the defendants' actions resulted in 7 casualties and about 20 victims.
As reported today at a press conference in Krasnodar by Vitaly Tkachov, head of the Investigatory Department of the ICPO for the Krasnodar Territory, the inquiry into the case is practically over. It is considered established that from April 2008 to February 20, 2009, the defendants made at least nine self-made explosives and triggered 10 explosions in Sochi. They masked their explosive devices as ordinary things.
By the results of the conducted explosion-technical examinations, it was established that the self-made bombs were hexogen-based and used a mix of trotyl and ammoniac saltpeter. In the opinion of the investigation, their crimes were motivated by the desire to take revenge for their past humiliations, raise their self-esteem and reach self-affirmation, the "Gazeta.Ru" reports.
Apart from explosions, Galkin is accused of murdering a man in 2003 and three men and two women in 2007. Inspectors believe that he committed these murders because of hatred to homeless persons. For murdering them, he used a signal pistol retooled for shooting with hunting cartridges.
The "Interfax" adds that subsequently Galkin killed his brother whom he had told about his crimes. Then, he plundered his brother's apartment.
Under the version of the investigation, in February 2008 Ilya Galkin, being an employee of the regiment of the Patrol-and-Post Service (PPS) of the Sochi militia, organized, together with his friend Denisenko, an organized criminal group, which committed a series of terror acts in Sochi.
