Protest rally in Armenia burns down Turkish flag
In Yerevan, in the evening on April 23, the "Dashnaktsutyun" Party held a rally that ended with a mourning torch march to the memorial to Armenians' genocide victims, which attracted several thousands of participants. They held posters "No to Armenian-Turkish Protocols!"
"We are here to demonstrate to the whole world our readiness to fight to the end, until the genocide is recognized by the mankind, first of all, by Turkey," said the spokesman of the Supreme Body of the ARF "Dashnaktsutyun" said Armen Rustamyan.
Prior to start the march, the protesters burnt down a Turkish flag and portraits of the president, prime minister and minister of foreign affairs of this country.
"We'll go on putting these flags on fire until Turkey recognizes the genocide," said Arthur Kazaryan, leader of youth wing of the ARF.
Despite fog and rain, thousands of participants of the torchlight march with posters and flags walked along the central streets of Yerevan to the Tsitsernakarberd memorial complex built in memory of one and a half million victims of the massacre of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire in 1915-1922, which Armenia treats as genocide.
