Nogaideli accuses Georgian special services of disrupting meeting with Gori residents
The meeting on March 27 of residents of the city of Gori with Georgian oppositionists took place in tense atmosphere. Zurab Nogaideli, leader of the "Movement for United Georgia", has stated that the reason was in provocations, which had been planned by the authorities.
According to activists of the opposition, the hall was full of special agents dressed as civilians and authorized administration representatives.
Then, Mr Nogaideli's supporters went from Gori to Surami. There, the meeting was calmer; however, the questions from the audience about what Nogaideli had done when he was in power were treated by his representative as those asked by provokers, the "Gazeta.Ru" reports.
On the eve of Zurab Nogaideli's trip to Gori, leaders of the Gori-based organization "Alliance for Georgia" advised him to refrain from visiting Shida Kartli. The members of the Alliance said that under their information the region that had lived through the war sees rather serious aggression against pro-Russian forces and persons close to them. But the politician decided not to postpone his visit to the region, the "Georgia Online" reports.
