Kadyrov's claim against "Novaya Gazeta" stopped

The Basmanny Court of Moscow has stopped proceedings on the claim of President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov against the "Novaya Gazeta", as the claimant recalled his.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Ramzan Kadyrov following his mother's request recalled his suits against Oleg Orlov, head of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial", Liudmila Alekseeva, chair of the Moscow Helsinki Group, and a group of Moscow journalists.

As reported by Anna Usachova, head of the press service of the Moscow City Court, the pre-trial preparation was appointed for today; however, the case was closed because the claimant refused from his claims.

According to Andrei Krasnenkov, Mr Kadyrov's lawyer, he has handed over an application to the court office that President of Chechnya recalls his claim. "I also told the judge that my client was warned that after the recall he has no right, under the law, to address the court again with same claims," the "Gazeta.Ru" quotes the lawyer.
