Khidirov: rough violations in election campaign in Dagestan

Preparation for local elections in Dagestan, appointed on October 11, is accompanied by administrative pressure and rough violations of the law. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent learnt about it from Eduard Khidirov, deputy of the People's Assembly of Dagestan and head of the regional branch of the Party "Patriots of Russia".

As an example, he gave the situation with election of Mayor Derbent, where the "patriots" support Imam Yaraliev, former Public Prosecutor of Dagestan and nowadays the head of the Suleiman-Stalskiy District. He is the main opponent to the incumbent head of the city Felix Kaziakhmedov, who is considered to be the nominee of President of Dagestan Mukhu Aliev.

Mr Khidirov said that under a threat of dismissal doctors, teachers and other employees of the budgetary sphere to vote for the current Mayor. In his opinion, there are facts of unreasonable audits by corresponding services of the entrepreneurs who support Yaraliev.

Deputy of the People's Assembly of Dagestan Eduard Khidirov said that the pre-election campaign in Dagestan has also cases of bribing voters. Bonus to pension of 1000 roubles is offered to every pensioner in exchange of early "correct" voting.

He has added that every violation of the law has written confirmation. "Claims are filed, and there are appeals and complaints to various instances," he said.
