Nine servicemen died by landmine explosion in Chechnya

Nine servicemen died and two got wounds of different severity by the explosion of a landmine in the Grozny region of Chechnya, reported a source from the headquarters of the United Forces in the Northern Caucasus.

"Two unknown people in a camouflage uniform detonated a landmine near the Petropavlovsky settlement on Thursday. The landmine was put into a VAZ 2106 car left on the curb", he said.

The agency's interlocutor said the landmine had detonated when a column of the federal forces had been passing the car.

Actions of operative investigation are being taken on the place of the terrorist act.
