Oppositional leader beaten in Georgia

Today at night, Giya Maisashvili, one of the leaders of the united opposition, was severely beaten. His colleagues from the "Party for the Future" are confident that the attack is backed up by the authorities of the country.

Let us note here that the "Caucasian Knot" has repeatedly reported about attacks on members of Georgian opposition. For example, on April 29, unknown persons made an armed attack on Shalva Natelashvili, leader of the Labour Party of Georgia, who was not injured only because of interference of his bodyguards and people who were with him at the moment.

The oppositional alliance "Coalition for Freedom" reported today that the attack on Maisashvili was committed in Tbilisi district Vake, as the Georgian Agency "Interpressnews" reports.

The "Coalition for Freedom" believes that the attack on the leader of the "Party for the Future" was politically motivated and organized by the authorities of Georgia.
