Armenia to receive gas from Iran in the next few days

The gas main Iran-Armenia will start operating quite soon. With the aim to clarify all the details of the agreements reached earlier by the two countries, Armenia will be visited by Seed Reza Kasaizade, Director of the Iran National Gas Company, as reported by the local Ministry of Energy.

Lusine Khachatryan, press secretary of the Ministry, told journalists that recently the Armenian and Iranian parties were in negotiations about the dates of arrival of Iranian gas to Armenia.

Within the next few days, the stage of the programme "gas in exchange for electricity" will be launched. According to the agreement of the corresponding agencies of the two countries, Armenia will pay for gas with its electricity at a rate of 3 kilowatt-hours for one thousand cubic meters of gas.
